Patricia Gallagher, 55, has been fined €200 after causing a disturbance at Letterkenny University Hospital, leading staff to fear for their safety.

Ms. Gallagher appeared before Letterkenny District Court, charged under the Public Order Act in relation to the incident.

Sergeant Jim Collins told the court that the incident occurred on April 24th while Ms. Gallagher was awaiting treatment at the hospital.

Sergeant Collins stated that Ms. Gallagher became disruptive, leading to hospital staff feeling threatened.

When Gardai intervened, she refused to cooperate and was subsequently arrested.

The court heard that Ms. Gallagher has a previous conviction for assault from 2016.

Her solicitor, Mr. Patsy Gallagher, explained that his client suffers from a significant health condition and has since apologized for her behavior.

Judge Ciaran Liddy imposed a €200 fine on Ms. Gallagher, who resides at St. Eunans Court, Letterkenny, with three months allowed for payment.
