Gardaí are investigating a reported ‘suspicious approach’ towards a woman near Dunfanaghy last Tuesday afternoon.

The incident occurred while the woman was walking alone on minor roads between Dunfanaghy and Creeslough during the early afternoon hours.

According to reports, a car stopped beside her, and the male driver began shouting at and threatening her.

Local sources indicate that the man attempted to force the woman into the vehicle, but she successfully evaded him.

The woman was able to note the car’s make and model before reporting the incident to Gardaí shortly afterwards.

While shaken by the event, the woman thankfully sustained no physical injuries.

As of yet, no arrests have been made in connection with the investigation, but it is understood that Gardaí have identified the vehicle involved.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed the incident to Donegal Daily.

“Gardaí received a report of an incident at Dunfanaghy, Co Donegal, at approximately 12:45pm on June 10th, 2025. Investigations are ongoing.”
