The Barnes View Filling Station and TSA Tyre Centre in Ballybofey have been sold for an undisclosed sum.

Staff have been notified this week that both businesses, located on the busy Donegal Road, will cease operations on Monday, June 30th.

A notice posted on the fuel pumps expresses gratitude to customers for their support and advises that all fuel vouchers must be used by the end of the month.

The new owner, a local resident choosing to remain anonymous, informed Donegal Daily that the fuel pumps are slated to reopen in the near future.

Plans include the construction of a hardware store, which will provide local employment, on the expansive 2.63-acre property. This site features 1.56 acres of undeveloped, zoned land in the back.

The filling station and tyre centre, a fixture in the community since its establishment in 1980, were formerly co-owned by Pat Maguire, a well-regarded local figure who passed away in 2019.

A representative for the current management team expressed their sincere appreciation to customers and staff for their unwavering loyalty and support over the past 45 years.
