Grow Mental Health, a mental health charity, is calling on enthusiastic Donegal swimmers to host their own “Dip@Dusk” event this June to raise crucial funds.

The campaign precedes Grow Mental Health’s national Dip@Dusk event, a series of swims scheduled from Thursday, June 19th to Sunday, June 22nd.

The weekend coincides with the Summer solstice, the year’s longest day. The charity encourages the public to embrace the cooler evening temperatures of June by swimming at dusk.

Registration costs €25, enabling participants to swim at a beach, lake, or river of their choice. This event’s decentralized nature promotes flexibility, inclusivity, and community involvement. Swimmers are encouraged to invite friends, family, and local groups to celebrate the longest days of the year in a meaningful and uplifting way.

“We know the benefits of cold-water swimming go far beyond the physical – it’s an act of connection, resilience and mindfulness,” said Síle Tracey, Marketing, Fundraising and Communications Manager at Grow Mental Health.

“DIP@DUSK celebrates the power of community and nature, while directly supporting our work with people facing mental health challenges across Ireland.”
