Rathmullan Pier celebrated its official reopening on Friday evening after a significant €4.5 million refurbishment project.
The reopening ceremony was led by Minister of State, Charlie McConalogue, who cut the ribbon in the north Donegal village.
“I am thrilled to officially reopen Rathmullan Pier following major refurbishment works culminating in an overall investment of €4.5m,” said the Minister.
“I am confident that this project will provide lasting benefits for the community, and the quality of the workmanship will ensure its longevity. Last evening’s official opening was a wonderful occasion for the local community, and I anticipate that the pier will be enjoyed by many for years to come.”
The refurbishment was carried out by Cunningham Civil and Marine, and encompassed essential safety upgrades, including repairs to concrete uprights, replacement of beams and decks, and the installation of new ducting.
