Ellie Ward has been crowned this year’s Mary from Dungloe!

The judges’ popular choice, Ellie, secured the title at the Mary from Dungloe Festival, another resounding success this year.

Ellie succeeds Clare O’Donnell from Letterkenny, the outgoing Donegal Mary, in the role.

It’s been a fantastic week, with all the contestants portraying their roles admirably in the ‘Marys’ competition.

However, only one could be named the winner.

And after a spectacular gala night, 19-year-old Ellie was selected by the judges as the 2025 Mary from Dungloe.

Ellie is currently a student at ATU in Letterkenny, pursuing a degree in Health Science with Physiotherapy.

A moment of great excitement ensued when Daniel O’Donnell serenaded Ellie on stage, surrounded by all the other contestants.

As part of her winning package, Ellie receives travel vouchers, €1,000 in cash, and, naturally, the prestigious Gay Byrne tiara, which she will wear throughout her reign as the 2025 Mary from Dungloe.
