A Garda officer was injured while apprehending a man wielding a sword in Dublin.

The event took place in the Ballyogan area of Dublin 18 around 1:30 AM this Sunday.

A man in his 40s has been arrested and charged following the incident. He is scheduled to appear before the Courts (CCJ 2) on Monday.

“One of our Gardaí (male) sustained an injury during the response and was transported to a hospital for evaluation. He has since been released,” a Garda spokesperson stated.
