Donegal is celebrating a remarkable week at the Galway Races, with four of its talented jockeys securing a total of five victories.

Luke McAteer, Patrick McGettigan, and Dylan Browne McMonagle all enjoyed significant success at the Ballybrit course. Adding to the Donegal pride, Oisin Orr also entered the winner’s circle in Nottingham, England, this week.

Dylan Browne McMonagle, hailing from Letterkenny, achieved a notable double win on Thursday in Galway, piloting horses to victory for the highly regarded trainer JP O’Brien.

Both wins came aboard favored horses. He first triumphed on Which Wolf Wins, the 5/4 favorite, in the 3:55pm race, followed by a win on Glenroyal, a 2/1 shot, in the 5:40pm event.

Luke McAteer also had a memorable Thursday, guiding the 40/1 outsider Tropical Island to a surprising victory for trainer Richard Fahey in the 3:20pm race.

He continued his winning streak on Saturday evening, riding Blue Moon Boy, rated at 22/1, to victory for trainer Andrew Kinirons.

Adding to Donegal’s impressive performance, young jockey Patrick McGettigan secured a win on Friday, also riding a 22/1 outsider, Steps in the Sand, for trainer Ciaran Murphy.

Oisin Orr, from Rathmullan, contributed to the Donegal success with his win in Nottingham on Thursday.

He rode Vincent Rocks, an 8/1 shot, to victory for trainer Hugo Palmer.
