Nancy’s Barn, the award-winning restaurant in Ballyliffin, Ireland, received a visit from some special guests yesterday: Irish rugby icon Conor Murray and his wife, model Joanna Cooper.

World Chowder Champion Chef Kieran Duey and his team extended a warm welcome to the couple and their son, Alfie.

Chef Kieran remarked: “It seems our World Award Winning Seafood Chowder isn’t just for regular folks… it’s a hit with legends too!”

“We’re incredibly proud and thrilled here at the Barn to have hosted such a genuine and down-to-earth person. Conor is now officially inducted into the Chowder Club Hall of Fame!”

Kieran (Duey) Doherty achieved international recognition after winning the World Chowder Championship Cook-off in 2017 in Rhode Island, USA. Since then, he’s become a strong advocate for quality Irish cuisine, pouring his passion into the menu at the renowned and award-winning Nancy’s Barn.

The restaurant is no stranger to celebrity guests. Last summer, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, enjoyed a Donegal-inspired meal at the establishment.

Kieran added, “As we always say at Nancy’s Barn Ballyliffin, you never know who’s going to walk through our doors. One day it’s royalty, the next it’s a rugby superstar!”

“A huge thank you to Conor for visiting and bringing your beautiful family along.”
