A regional passenger train derailed in southern Germany, resulting in injuries to at least three people, according to federal police who spoke to German news agency dpa.
Approximately 100 passengers were onboard when at least two carriages left the tracks in a wooded area around 6:10 pm local time (5:10 pm GMT), dpa reported.
Photographs from the scene show sections of the train lying on their side while rescue workers climbed the carriages.
The accident occurred near the town of Riedlingen, dpa reported, which is about 158 kilometers (98 miles) west of Munich.
The cause of the derailment is currently unknown.
Federal police, responsible for overseeing the railroads, and Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s primary national railway operator, have not yet responded to requests for comment on Sunday evening.
