A Kerry native is playfully antagonizing Donegal fans this week!
Geoff Cotter, originally from Tralee but now residing in Convoy, works as a Bus Éireann driver and has been proudly displaying his Kerry jersey this week.
Geoff is married to Jo (née Cowan), a local woman, and they have two sons, Isaac (14) and Sam (12). Their home is conveniently located near the Donegal GAA Centre of Excellence.
Having lived in Donegal for 20 years, Geoff, like any true Kerry supporter, is confident that the Sam Maguire Cup will be returning to Kerry on Monday.
Speaking with Donegal Daily, Geoff admitted to wearing his Kerry jersey while driving his bus routes this week.
“There’s been a lot of good-natured teasing at home with Jo and the boys all week, and I enjoy wearing my Kerry jersey when Donegal supporters are boarding the bus,” he said with a laugh.
“But if Kerry wins, I’ll never hear the end of it – especially after our comfortable victory over Donegal back in 2014.”
Adding to the tension for Donegal fans, Geoff is on standby to drive a supporters’ bus to Dublin today. If you spot him behind the wheel with that Kerry jersey on, make sure to give him a friendly thumbs-down!
